Washington Christian Church and the Washington Ministerial Association will host a Pancake Supper and Bake Sale on May 11th. All proceeds benefit "My Sister's House," the long-term, transitional housing facility for single moms and their children. Peoria Heights Congregational Church is having their first annual "Blessing of the Bikes and Hot Rods" from 10am-2pm on May 18th. That means bring your motorcycle, hot rod cars or trucks, bicycles, etc. to the church and get it blessed by Pastor Karl, and start the riding season off with God's Blessing. They want to keep everyone safe, so plan on coming out and enjoying a fun-filled day. Open Hearts, Open Homes Orphan Ministry will host a Foster Care Prayer Vigil on May 23rd from 6-7pm. This event will take place at Bethany Baptist Church at 7422 N Heinz Lane in Edwards. They will meet in the Senior High Room. This is a time of prayer for all the children in the foster care system and all those that are a part of their lives. "The Lesters" from St. Louis, Missouri, will present a Gospel Concert at the Evangelical United Methodist Church, located at 401 Walnut St in Washington, on May 25th at 7pm. You can also join them for dinner prior to the concert. Sandwiches, desserts and beverages will be available from 5:30-6:30pm in the church fellowship hall. The Answers in Genesis Creation Conference will be held on June 7th-9th. The purpose of the conference is to bring the message of Biblical authority as well as creation-apologetics materials and educational resources to the community.
