May 4th & 5th

Grace United Methodist Church is hosting a free Christian concert featuring Ryan Seaton on May 4th at 6pm. Ryan is a former member or Ernie Haase and Signature Sound and has won several awards including a Grammy nomination. In 2009 Ryan decided to beome a solo artist. Fairbury First United Methodist Church will be hosting Don Piper, speaker and New York Times best selling author on Sunday evening, May 5th at 6pm. Don has written 90 Minutes in Heaven and Heaven is Real, and now travels all over the country to share his amazing story of hope and healing. Northfield Christian Fellowship, located at 411 W North St in Tremont would like to invite you to a Passover Seder Meal led by Stephen Katz, from Jews for Jesus, on May 5th at 5:30pm. Please mark your calendars for a fund and spiritually enriching evening for the family. The symbolic elements of the feast cause us not only to look back and remember what the Lord did for our people in the past; they also foreshadow a greater redemtion through Jesus, the Passover Lamb. May 11th & 18th

Washington Christian Church and the Washington Ministerial Association will host a Pancake Supper and Bake Sale on May 11th. All proceeds benefit "My Sister's House," the long-term, transitional housing facility for single moms and their children. The pancake supper will run from 4-7pm at Washington Christian Church, 1012 N Main St in Washington. The cost is by donation only. There will also be a bake sale at the event featuring baked goods donated from the community. If you would like more information, you can contact Tammy Herrmann at 309-634-1983.

Join Pekin First Church of God on May 11th for an awesome craft and vendor fair from 2-6pm. Pampered Chef, Paparazzi Accessories, Jamberry Nails, Thirty-One Gifts, Scentsy, as well as many crafters will be on hand for awesome Mother's Day, graduation and teacher appreciation gifts! The sale will be held at the church, located at 2520 Maywood Ave in Pekin. For more information about the fair, please call 309-447-6724.

Peoria Heights Congregational Church is having their first annual "Blessing of the Bikes and Hot Rods" from 10am-2pm on May 18th. That means bring your motorcycle, hot rod cars or trucks, bicycles, etc. to the church and get it blessed by Pastor Karl, and start the riding season off with God's Blessing. They want to keep everyone safe, so plan on coming out and enjoying a fun-filled day. There will also be a car wash to benefit the church's youth program and donations will be accepted for the car wash. The church can be found at 4906 N Prospect Rd. May 23rd - June

Open Hearts, Open Homes Orphan Ministry will host a Foster Care Prayer Vigil on May 23rd from 6-7pm. This event will take place at Bethany Baptist Church at 7422 N Heinz Lane in Edwards. They will meet in the Senior High Room. This is a time of prayer for all the children in the foster care system and all those that are a part of their lives. This event is in connection witht the National Foster Care Prayer vigil during National Foster Care Month. For any questions, contact Amy Park at 309-266-1635.

"The Lesters" from St. Louis, Missouri, will present a Gospel Concert at the Evangelical United Methodist Church, located at 401 Walnut St in Washington, on May 25th at 7pm. You can also join them for dinner prior to the concert. Sandwiches, desserts and beverages will be available from 5:30-6:30pm in the church fellowship hall. The food will be provided by the EUMC gospel concert committee. Donations for the meal will help with concert expenses. Everyone is invited to attend a special service at Glad Tidings Assembly of God, 2201 E Washington St in East Peoria, on May 26th at 10am, to give recognition and honor to those who are serving or have served in the military. Military participants are encouraged to come wearing their prospective uniforms, if possible. A free picnic lunch at the church will also follow the service. Everyone is welcome to attend. Northminster Presbyterian Church, located at 10720 N Knoxville Ave in Peoria will host SonWest Roundup Vacation Bible School, June 17th-21st from 9am until noon. Children ages 4 years through those going into 6th grade will enjoy an awesome week of fun, crafts, Bible stories and tasy snacks. Registration forms are available at www.northminster.us/vbs, or by stopping in the church office. Deadline for registration is June 8th.

The Answers in Genesis Creation Conference will be held on June 7th-9th. The purpose of the conference is to bring the message of Biblical authority as well as creation-apologetics materials and educational resources to the community. This year's featured speaker is Robert Gillespie. The conference will take place at 7pm on both Friday and Saturday nights and at 9am on Sunday morning at the the Cerf Center at Eureka College.
