Bring your family and friends to an inspiring night of art and community, highlighting the passion and talent of local artists having intellectual/developmental disabilities. The Foster Gallery for Christianity and the Fine Arts is excited to kick off the new year by celebrating these artists by presenting the Artistic Abilities Exhibit on weekdays from 9am-5pm going on now through February 11th. Peoria Heights Congregational Church will be having a Bingo night on January 18th! There will be dinner served at 5:30pm and the game starts at 6pm. Make sure to stop by and enjoy this fun, family-friendly event that is open to the public. The church is located at 4906 N Prospect Rd in Peoria Heights. Cornerstone Baptist Church in Groveland will be hosting the Love & Respect Marriage DVD Conference on January 19th and 20th.  Dr. Emerson Eggerichs is an internationally known public speaker on the topic of marriage, parenting, communication and more. Based on over three decades of counseling as well as scientific and biblical research, Dr. Eggerichs developed the Love and Respect Marriage Conference which he presents to live audiences around the country. This dynamic and life-changing conference is impacting the world, resulting in the healing and restoration of countless relationships. The cost is $15 per person if registered by January 8th or $20 per person after January 8th. Join First United Methodist Church of Peoria for a traditional worship service on January 21st with music led by Crossbones, a trombone ensemble comprised of Central Illinois musicians. Crossbones is directed by Darren Seymor. The sermon will be provided by Senior Pastor, Dr. Timothy Ozment, and complimentary coffee and doughnuts offered at the Gathering Space.  There will be two services to choose from, one at 8:30am and one at 11am. Central Illinois Right to Life will present their annual Sanctity of Human Life Rally on January 22nd at Riverside Community Church. The rally will begin at 7pm and will feature updates about their local pregnancy centers and Women's Care Center. The keynote speaker will be filmmaker, and human rights activist, Jason Jones.  Jason has appeared on ABC, Fox, CNN, and hundreds of radio stations nationwide in defense of the most vulnerable within the human family.At 6:30pm, one half hour before the rally, attendees may gather at the church for a vigil walk around the Federal Courthouse block. Refreshments and social time will follow the rally. Linn Mennonite Christian School in rural Roanoke is having its annual Soup & Pie Supper on Saturday, January 27th, from 4:30-7:30 P.M. This meal is eat in or carry out. The cost is $8 for adults, $4 for ages 4-10, and there is no charge for children under 4. For more information call 531-4707.



The Big Voice Tour featuring David Phelps and Cana's Voice is coming to Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria on February 1st at 7pm. It’s time to sign up for “Night in a Car 2018”! Night In A Car is a homeless simulation that shines a spotlight on the hidden aspect of homelessness that many in our community experience—living in their cars. Participants will live out of their cars during the overnight hours. The event will start at 7pm on Friday, February 2nd at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomington and continue until 7am Saturday morning. Individuals will have opportunities to come inside for hot beverages, snacks, and educational sessions throughout the evening.
