The Heart of Peoria Catholic Community Churches will be hosting Sophia Sunday on July 9th. This annual event will be held at St. Joseph Hall from 11am-4pm. In addition to a Pulled Pork Dinner for $9, there will also be a silent auction, bake sale and a 50/50 drawing. All proceeds from the event benefit Sophia’s Kitchen, a program that provides direct aid to the hungry in the area. St. Joseph Hall is located at 103 S Richard Pryor Place in Peoria. GospelFest Ministries will present a free concert of gospel music and hymns entitled “GospelFest Camp Meeting Hymn Sing” on July 7th at Grace Presbyterian Church. The event will take the audience back to an old-fashioned hymn sing with Shawn Degenhart, the GospelFest Singers and the GospelFest Choir. Joining the group will be special guest, pianist Tracey Phillips from Nashville. The GospelFest Camp Meeting Hymn Sing is free and open to the public. A love offering will be taken which will support future concerts and projects of GospelFest Ministries. The concert begins at 7pm but doors open at 6. Grace Presbyterian is located at 8607 N. A summer kids’ event called Maker Fun Factory VBS will be hosted by the Church of Christ Northwest from July 10th through July 13th from 6-8:15pm. At Maker Fun Factory, kids discover that God made them—and for a purpose! Kids participate in memorable Bible-learning activities, sing catchy songs, play teamwork-building games, make and devour yummy treats, experience one-of-a-kind Bible adventures, and more. Enjoy an evening of Gospel Music featuring The Redemptions, on Sunday, July 16th, at 6pm at Trivalley Baptist Church in Bloomington.  They are a vocal trio based out of St. Louis who will be sharing their blend of traditional, progressive and southern gospel music!
