The Foster Gallery for Christianity and the Fine Arts is excited to kick off the new year by celebrating these artists by presenting the Artistic Abilities Exhibit on weekdays from 9am-5pm going on now through February 11th. Dr. Emerson Eggerichs is an internationally known public speaker on the topic of marriage, parenting, communication and more. Based on over three decades of counseling as well as scientific and biblical research, Dr. Eggerichs developed the Love and Respect Marriage Conference which he presents to live audiences around the country. Join First United Methodist Church of Peoria for a traditional worship service on January 21st with music led by Crossbones, a trombone ensemble comprised of Central Illinois musicians. Central Illinois Right to Life will present their annual Sanctity of Human Life Rally on January 22nd at Riverside Community Church. The rally will begin at 7pm and will feature updates about their local pregnancy centers and Women's Care Center. The keynote speaker will be filmmaker, and human rights activist, Jason Jones. Jason has appeared on ABC, Fox, CNN, and hundreds of radio stations nationwide in defense of the most vulnerable within the human family.At 6:30pm, one half hour before the rally, attendees may gather at the church for a vigil walk around the Federal Courthouse block. It’s time to sign up for “Night in a Car 2018”! Night In A Car is a homeless simulation that shines a spotlight on the hidden aspect of homelessness that many in our community experience—living in their cars. Participants will live out of their cars during the overnight hours. The event will start at 7pm on Friday, February 2nd at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomington and continue until 7am Saturday morning. Individuals will have opportunities to come inside for hot beverages, snacks, and educational sessions throughout the evening.
