New Year's Polar Plunge
The 22nd Annual New Year’s Day Polar Plunge is back! This annual event raises money for local non-profits with this year’s beneficiaries being The Greater Peoria Honor Flight, The Ark Animal Shelter, & The Picket Fence Foundation. The Polar Plunge will take place at the East Peoria Boat Club. The cost is $30 per person and includes a tshirt. Doors will open at 9am with the jump starting at 1pm. Christmas Eve Service
Press pause on all of the final preparations for Christmas morning and savor a time of reflection and celebration at the Christmas Eve service at New Castle Bible Church. Drive in for free and check out the 47th Annual Live Nativity Scene at North Pekin Church of the Nazarene on December 19th from 6-8pm. Bethany Community Church's Community Running Club invites you to join them for a Race/Walk event on November 22nd to support My Sister's House. The race will take place on the property of Bethany Community Church in Washington. The event includes a timed 5K and an untimed 1.5 mile walk. Thanksgiving or turkey themed costumes are encouraged! Optional obstacles include a slalom through trees, riding large trikes, hopping hay bales, a farmer's carry, an army crawl under cargo nets, and more! Step back in time to the golden era of music with Doug Horne and the Rhythm Makers Orchestra! They are a passionate band dedicated to reviving the timeless classics from the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s. In addition to big band favorites, they’ll also perform Gospel music, delivered with a distinctive 1940s twist. With their authentic sound and nostalgic charm, they transport their audiences to an era of elegance, swing, and infectious rhythms.
Doors open at 5:30 PM for hors d’oeuvres and a dessert reception. The celebration will begin promptly at 6:30 PM.
