CEF of IL Fall Fundraiser with Dr. Robert J. Morgan and Jeff Nichols
CEF of Illinois is hosting their annual Fall Fundraiser featuring Dr. Robert J. Morgan and Jeff Nichols on Thursday, November 5th at 6:00pm at Bethany Community Church in Washington. Not only will we receive encouragement to continue to reach the next generation with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but we will also hear what is going on in the ministry of CEF of Illinois and beyond! Bethany Community Church hosts “Iron Turkey” in support of local charities Heartline and Heart House, My Sister’s House, and Safe Families for Children Peoria/Bloomington.
Bethany Community Church's Community Running Club invites you to join them for an 8th race/walk event November 21, 2026 to support Heartline and Heart House, My Sister’s House, and Safe Families for Children Peoria/Bloomington. The race will take place on a 1.5 mile cross country style loop course, with optional obstacles, around the property of Bethany Community Church (27577 Dutch Lane, Washington, IL). Come test your grit! The event includes a timed 5K and an untimed 1.5 mile walk. Thanksgiving or turkey themed costumes are encouraged! Optional obstacles include a slalom through trees, riding large trikes, hopping hay bales, a farmer's carry, an army crawl under cargo nets, and more! Participants can skip the obstacles that don't interest them, but a prize given to those who do all obstacles.
The 5K and walk begin at 9am. Jogging strollers are welcome, but for safety, pets are not allowed on the course.
Each registration will be given a short-sleeved T-shirt (cotton or dry fit, your choice) and a baseball hat. Participants may purchase a hoodie or beanie on top of the registration price until noon on 11/6, if desired.

Early bird discount of $40 until noon 10/2, T-shirt and hat guaranteed.
Price increase to $50 beginning at 12:01pm on 10/2 to noon 11/6, T-shirt and hat still guaranteed.

Families, neighbors, & friends are invited to come together for a safe, fun evening of Trunk-or-Treating in the Richwoods Christian Church parking lot on October 30th from 6-8pm. Since his time as a Major League Baseball player, Ben Zobrist has become a passionate advocate for mental and emotional health, youth mentorship, and faith.
In 2017, Zobrist partnered with One Mind Institute to raise funds for brain health, reflecting his commitment to mental well-being. Following his retirement from baseball in 2019, he continued to integrate his faith into his advocacy work, serving on the board of the American Psychiatric Association Foundation and the Refuge Center for Counseling in Franklin, TN. His faith has been a guiding force in his mission to help others, often sharing his personal experiences and beliefs through various platforms.
In 2023, Zobrist launched Champion Forward, an initiative aimed at addressing the mental and emotional health challenges faced by young athletes, their caretakers, and coaches. This program, deeply rooted in his Christian values, focuses on combating burnout, isolation, and performance pressure while promoting balance, connection, and healthy awareness.

Danny Funderburk Concert
Danny Funderburk will be in concert on Saturday, July 18th at 5:30pm at the Roanoke Park in Roanoke, IL. For more than 49 years, people across the country have fallen in love with his incredible talent, as he performed with The Singing Americans, Perfect Heart, Mercy’s Way, and most notably, the prestigious Cathedral Quartet. Please bring your lawn chairs for this Roanoke Park Community Sing with Danny Funderburk. There is no charge for admission but there will be an offering received to benefit the Apostolic Christian Homes.
Jim & Melissa Brady with Michael Booth Concert
Jim & Melissa Brady with Michael Booth will be in Concert on Friday, July 17th at 7:00pm at the Evangelical United Methodist Church at 401 Walnut Street in Washington.
