Life and Freedom Rally

Central Illinois Right to Life will host the Life and Freedom Rally on March 25th at 7pm. The keynote speaker will be Steven Mosher, a leading expert on China and global population policy. Steven’s firsthand exposure to coercive reproductive practices has made him a prominent anti-abortion activist and advocate for human rights. The rally will be held at St. Thomas Church, located at 904 E Lake Ave in Peoria Heights. There is no cost to attend, but a free-will offering will be taken.

The Music of Easter

GospelFest Ministries presents, “The Music of Easter” on Palm Sunday, March 29th at Crossroads Global Methodist Church in Washington. Join Shawn Degenhart and the GospelFest Singers for a musical journey through Holy Week. Walk A Mile in My Shoes

You can help homeless men and women leave the cold streets and find warmth, care, and sobriety at Pathway Ministries. Walk a mile in the middle of winter on February 21st at 9am to deliver necessities and raise support so people can have shelter! A hot shower and basic hygiene items restore someone's dignity in amazing ways. Walkers are encouraged to collect and bring essential hygiene items. Participants will assemble the items before the walk at Embassy Suites and then walk a mile across the Illinois River to Peoria to drop off the kits at the downtown Pathway Ministries location. The 22nd Annual New Year’s Day Polar Plunge is back! This annual event raises money for local non-profits with this year’s beneficiaries being The Greater Peoria Honor Flight, The Ark Animal Shelter, & The Picket Fence Foundation. The Polar Plunge will take place at the East Peoria Boat Club. The cost is $30 per person and includes a tshirt. Doors will open at 9am with the jump starting at 1pm. An American Family Christmas

Join the Peoria Area Civic Chorale for their new Conductor Dr. Joshua Russell’s first An American Family Christmas production December 19 & 20 at 7:30pm and December 21 at 2:30pm at Five Points Washington! Hear modern arrangements of favorite carols such as “Go Tell It on the Mountain” and “Silent Night” as well as exciting arrangements of “Jingle Bells,” “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” and “Man with the Bag.” From beautiful a capella to swinging jazz, there is something for audience members of all ages to enjoy. Santa and Mrs. Claus will also make a special appearance and be available for photos during intermission. A cake reception sponsored by Trefzger’s Bakery will follow Friday and Saturday’s performances. Tickets are $10 for students, $25 for adults, and children ages 12 and under are free.
